Edith Wharton - THE CUSTOM OF THE COUNTRY

A few months ago there was some hubbub over an article in The New Yorker that Johnathan Franzen wrote about Edith Wharton celebrating her 150th birthday. Whatever you may have thought about the article - one thing it did is make me want to go back and read her work. THE CUSTOM OF THE COUNTRY is the least know of her major books but one could make an argument that it is the most fun. Perfect reading for a spring afternoon. Also, we here at Scaredy Kat highly recommend a visit to The Mount if you find yourself in western Massachusetts with some time to spare.

Sweet Easter Surprises!

Here is a rip roaring guide for all the grammatically challenged of you out there. (And really who isn't) Maybe if I had had this version I would have done better in my 7th grade English class. Warning - there is much swearing and many sexual references contained within this hilarious reference book.

That's 45 cents for a regular letter.
